This is an infographic outlining the Medical Assistant position at Northwell. Medical Assistants perform patient care under the physician's/nurse's direct supervision. It requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and successful completion of a six month to one year course in medical assisting at an accredited school, or one to three years of medical assistant experience. This role is responsible for evaluating and coordinating the flow process involved in call taking, facilitating acceptance and triage of calls. It requires a highschool diploma or equivalent, a valid New York State department of health paramedic certification, AHA, BCLS and ACLS certifications, and one to three years of relevant technical experience.
