Job Description
Under direction and supervision of Registered Nurse, the BHA Electrocardiogram Technician is responsible for EKGs, census update, and Medical Department supplies.
Job Responsibility
1.Performs electrocardiograms, on all patients and employees as requested
2.Escorts patients for medical tests, x-rays, consultations, etc. in or outside the hospital as needed
3.Demonstrates knowledge of high risk patient observations when performing tests
4.Ensures adequate stock of supplies and proper maintenance of equipment
5.Maintains general order and complies with Infection control policies for work area and equipment.
6.Measures, records, and reports vital signs, weight and height in a timely and accurate fashion
7.Documents activities on approved hospital forms and according to department policy and procedure
8.Updates census board in Evaluations and Admissions.
9.Maintains updated patient files
10.Prepares and sends all records, laboratory slips and physician notes to Medical Records
11.Attends and participates in staff meetings and unit based education
12.Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate supervision.
13.Maintains competency in education specific to area of practice
14. Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions
Job Qualification
- High School Diploma (or GED), required.
- Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide certification, preferred.
- BHA and EKG experience, required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
- American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED for adult and children, required.
- Hospital experience, (or related experience), required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, required.

The salary range for this position is $25.2358-$26.5661/hour
