Job Description
| Participates in research and academic activities for the emergency medicine service line in collaboration with physicians, nurses, research interns and ancillary staff. Supports related quality management, administrative and educational projects within established deadlines and academic goals of the program. |
Job Responsibility
- Procures funding, negotiates budgets and communicates with extramural funding sources and national coordinating sites for institutional and multi-center research studies.
- Prepares for and co-chairs weekly research committee meetings; provides peer feedback to presenters on study design, written proposal and issues relating to proposal implementation.
- Ensures ethical and legal standards are maintained (Good Clinical Practice) as well as compliance with local, state and national regulatory policies and procedures.
- Oversees data collection and regulatory documentation; liaisons with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Biomedical Research Alliance of New York, as necessary.
- Ensures biological specimens are processed and shipped per Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and guidelines.
- Supports research teams to complete accreditation requirements for Accreditation Council for Graduate medical Education, Office of Continuing Medical Education, and Joint Commission.
- Tracks and reports on departmental faculty achievements, including publication, presentation, awards and promotions.
- Implements Performance Improvement projects, analyzes data and presents results/outcomes to clinicians and management as necessary.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
